This seminar seeks to expand our understanding of Chosun society's economic system and its transformation between the 17th and 20th centuries.

The seminar will present findings of a long-standing research project led by economic historian Rhee Young Hoon of Seoul National University. This will be the first of its kind in English and be of interest to many scholars in the field of Korean and East Asian studies.
